Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

Within the framework of full-scale experimental validation of the global building energy simulation software programme CLIM2000 developed by Electricity Applications in Residential and Commercial Buildings Branch of Electricite De France (EDF is t

When talking about air-conditioning systems in buildings people argue with high energy consumption of those systems.
Zeldler O, Fitzner K
Indoor air flow induced by a fan-coil unit in an air-conditioned environmental chamber is studied experimentally. The supply Archimedes number which is a macroscopic number describing indoor air flow is measured and related to the

In Amstelveen, The Netherlands, an apartment complex of forty two units has been build. Sixteen units are extreme low energy apartments. These apartments are very well isolated and have air tight facades.

This paper presents a study of the dynamics of the turbulent mixing of a hot or cold air stream with the air in the interior of a building zone.
Lombard C
This paper is describing the preliminary results of the Annex 27 work aiming at developing simplified tools for evaluating domestic ventilation systems.
Mansson L G
The design of natural ventilation devices in industrial buildings is complicated by the nonlinear interaction between the air flow rate and the indoor air temperature.
Rousseau P G
This study presents a new method of interior air motion assessment using artificial neural networks.
Kindangen J I, Krauss G, Depecker P
In line with its work on the positioning of gas air-conditioning systems in the commercial sector, the Gaz de France Research and Development Division conducted both experimental and theoretical studies. An air-conditioning system, known as the 'r

With the growth of living standards, there is an increasing demand for the cooling of living space. Rational energy use demands the use of alternative ways of cooling because the energy consumption of compressor cooling is high.
Arkar C, Medved S, Novak P
A concept of mixing ratio of piston air is developed to evaluate the portion of the injecting air from tunnel mixed with the air in platform space of metro system.

Many houses in Japan have crawl space between the lowest floor and the earth ground which is about 50 cm in height. This is considered as protection against corrosion of wood materials in the floor.
Iwamae A, Matsumoto M
Recently, a lower type free-access floor system which realizes improved ease of walking and less sense of confinement has been attracting attention.
Takahashi A, Kong C N
Mathematical models have been used by various researchers to provide both a fundamental understanding of indoor air quality dynamics and a platform for estimation of IAQ constituents in lieu of experimental measurements.
Bohanon H R, Cole K, Reynolds R J
The use of IR detectors to steer the ventilation is in principle an attractive approach for optimising the ventilation according to the occupants needs.
Ducarme D, Wouters P, L'Heureux D
There has been lack of fact-based knowledge for design and operation of supply-air filters for general industrial ventilation.
