Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

The effects of air change and ground covers on crawl space moisture balance in a cold climate are discussed in this paper.
Kurnitski J, Matilainen M
Experiments and computer simulations were conducted to evaluate the performance of radiant barriers under three different insulation levels in residential applications.

Calculation of design cooling loads is of critical concern to designers of HVAC systems. The work reported here has been carried out under a joint ASHRAE-CIBSE research project to compare design cooling calculation methods.

Architecture and engineering journals have been increasingly attentive to innovative non-residential buildings designed with operable windows.
Schiller G, de Dear R
Ventilation is pivotal both in terms of indoor air quality and environmental issues such as greenhouse gas emissions. It also has a major impact on energy use in buildings.
Liddament M W
Even when the hills have soaked up the rain and the lush green grass is bent flat in the wind, the Great Glasshouse in Wales can still offer a Mediterranean haven. But how do you create and service such an environment?

Nearly 20 years after it was ordered by Parliament, the f'.230 million parliamentary building is ready to welcome its inmates: 200-odd constituency MPs and their staff.
Bunn R
When it is required to predict the local mean age of air, the calculations are often carried out assuming that there is no recirculation that is that all of the supply air is fresh.
