We are now pleased to announce the release of our Ventilation Information Paper no 41: Impact of wind on the airtightness test results. This paper aims to present and discuss the calculation method of standard ISO 9972 regarding the uncertainty induced by wind; gather published knowledge and determining what further research is needed on the quantification of the wind impact on airtightness tests results (including numerical simulations, laboratory and on-site measurements studies) and; give guidance for minimizing and better estimating the wind impact on airtightn

The World Health Organization (WHO) developed and published a roadmap on how to improve ventilation in indoor spaces in the context of COVID-19. The roadmap is divided into three settings – health care, non-residential and residential spaces – and takes into account different ventilation systems (mechanical or natural). The roadmap is aimed at health care facility managers, building managers, as well as those members of the general public who are providing home care or home quarantine.

The webinar will address the applications of IoT devices and big data in IAQ and ventilation and discuss the possibilities they provide for research.

The Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre and the IEA EBC Annex 86 “Energy Efficient Indoor Air Quality Management in Residential Buildings” (https://annex86.iea-ebc.org/) are organizing the webinar IAQ and Ventilation Metrics to be held on April 8^th, 2021 at 09:00-10:30 CET. The webinar will discuss the road towards a robust comprehensive IAQ metric for the assessment of the performance of ventilation.

As already announced in the November issue of the AIVC newsletter, the AIVC board decided to start a project to collect, discuss and disseminate information about COVID‐19 in relation to ventilation and airtightness. A working group was created to define the activities and outputs of the project with the title ‘Ventilation, airtightness and COVID‐19’.
