Databases to provide information on energy savings. Databanken informerar om energibesiktning.

Describes current projects for developing rational methods and systems for energy inspections in existing buildings, which is currently lacking. In future, these accurate functional measurements will contribute to more accurate assessments even in the case of simpler visual inspections. Theresults of the investigations will be collated in a data base which will laterform the basis of an applied energy inspection system.

Infiltration measurements in audit and retrofit programs.

A model that relates fan pressurization results to infiltration values during the heating season is the basis for infiltration estimates in several different audit programs. Describes the model and presents validation results. The model is used in three different audit strategies. The first is an energy audit to determine economically optimal retrofits for residential buildings, based on actual on-site measurements of key indices of the house.

An instrumented microprocessor-assisted residential energy audit.

Describes an energy audit, developed to determine economically optimal retrofits for residential buildings, based on actual on-site measurements of key indices of the house. Measurements made are; overall energy consumption, furnace efficiency, air leakage measured by pressurization, thermostat settings and window dimensions. The data is fed to a microprocessor and a program suggests retrofits.< Describes the model for estimating heating and cooling loads on the basis of "dynamic degree days", and the algorithm for calculating air infiltration.

Building envelope performance testing.

Discusses use of an instrumented energy audit, as opposed to a walk-through audit. Describes use of the audit to pinpoint infiltration sites. Method used is to depressurize a building and use thermography to locate air leaks. Briefly describes equipment and gives example of an instrumented audit of a residential building. States advantage of instrumented audit is that it gives a quantitative energy analysis as opposed to a qualitative one.
