Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

The AIVC website includes a protected content feature that provides access to AIRBASE. Access to the protected content is free of charge but requires you to register first.

Kitchen hoods play an essential role in the ventilation of kitchens. This paper describes activities carried out at the Belgian Building Research Institute with respect tothe determination of kitchen hood efficiencies.
Geerinckx B, Wouters P, Vandaele L
This report presents the computational results for the two-dimensional benchmark test case described in research item 1.45. The code used is EXACT3, standing for explicit time marching algorithm for continuous thermal fluid flow.
Said M N
As proposed in IEA Annex 20, a two dimensional case, for which detailed experimental data are available, has been specified by Nielsen to test different CFD codes.
Vogl N, Renz U
This document is the synthesis report on two reference simulation exercises, both dealing with a hydronic heating system.
Madjidi M
Contains a final synthesis of the simulation exercises on the Collins building, consisting of the thermal simulation of a commercial building coupled with a VAV conditioning system, performed within the IEA - Annex XVII research project (Building<
