Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

The efficiency of an air diffusion system consists of two factors. The first is the ability of the system to remove heat and contaminants out of the ventilated room.
Hagström K, Siren K.
Forced air distribution systems in residential buildings are often located outside conditioned space, for example in attics, crawlspaces, garages and basements.
Walker, I.S.
The aim of this bibliography is to review and technically assess research into the impact of urban air pollution on the indoor environment.
Limb M.J.
The steepest descent and simulated annealing optimization techniques are used to simultaneously estimate the effective mixing volumes and air exchange rates of a large partition less building exhibiting heterogeneous spatial air flow conditions.
Sohn M D, Small M J
The pressure field in fluid systems reflects the flow configuration. Measurements of the pressure along the perimeter of a slot ventilated room have been conducted for different room sizes.
Karimpanah M T
A two-dimensional turbulence k-e model is used to predict distribution of air velocity, temperature and turbulence kinetic energy in an air-conditioned room using ceiling air supply.
Xue H, Shu C
Airflow behavior inside a cleanroom with vertical unidirectional flow has been investigated.
Cheng M, Liu G R, Lam K Y, et al
The occupants of six houses suffered from symptoms which improved upon leaving their houses. In a previous study, tests were conducted in these six houses to measure various physical parameters related to their indoor environments.

Recent research suggests that fine-particulate air pollution increases the incidence of lung disease and premature death.
Taylor B J, Webster R, Imbabi M S
The thermal performance of the underground airpipe air conditioning system constructed at the Non-Conventional Energy Research Institute, Ghosi has been studied.
Sawhney R L, Buddhi D, Thanu N M
The calculation of airflows is of great importance for detailed building thermal simulation computer codes, these airflows most frequently constituting an important thermal coupling between the building and the outside on one hand, and the differe

A mathematical model is developed to predict Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emission rates from homogeneous materials.
Haghighat F, Zhang Y
This article presents the study of a surgical block with serious deficiencies of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) located in the Hospital del Rio Hortega (Valladolid, Spain).
