Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

The AIVC website includes a protected content feature that provides access to AIRBASE. Access to the protected content is free of charge but requires you to register first.

A method has been introduced for the analysis of the hygrothermal behaviour of building materials and construction. The model equations for coupled heat and mass transfer used in the computer code TRATMO and in the determination of hygrotherm
Kohonen R
A method to analyze thermal and moisture physical behaviour of building components under transient conditions is introduced.
Kohonen R
Air-to-air heat exchangers were evaluated as a method of maintaining indoor contaminant concentration levels below acceptable levels.
Zawacki T S, Yudow B
Contains further papers, reports and conference summaries from the 3rd International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and Climate, 1984, as well as afull list of authors and titles of papers printed in this and the previous volumes.
Swedish Council for Building Research
Indoor concentrations of a variety of particulate matter and gaseous compounds often exceed outdoor concentrations. We should examine exposures to air pollutants within the important built environments or perhaps on a personal basis.
Spengler J D
Air pollution is not just a phenomenon associated with urbanization and industrialization.
Smith K R
The session on measured air infiltration rates in residences showed that the situation has changed drastically since the first symposium on air infiltration in 1978. Whereas in 1978 little measured data or pressurization data, or both, exist.
Trechsel H R, Lagus P L (editors)
A spun-bonded polyolefin air infiltration barrier (AIB) was installed immediately beneath the siding of a 5-year-old, ranch-style house [conventional comparison house (CCH)].
Weimar R D, Luebs D F
Contains approximately 750 terms and their definitions related to air infiltration, its description, detection, measurement, modelling and prevention as well as to the environment and relevant physical processes.
Allen C
Report of written contributions and discussion at Workshop held in March, 1984, Brussels.
AIVC
Lists and summarises airtightness and related standards to achieve energy efficient ventilation.
