Recently, a law securing 0.7ACH ventilationrates was enacted in South Korea. As aconsequence, various ventilators have beeninstalled in apartments. Of the different types ofventilators that have been installed, naturalventilators are able to minimize energyconsumption and reduce environmental load byusing natural energy. However, thedisadvantage of natural ventilators is that theycannot supply continuous outdoor air, and theresidents do not know how to use naturalventilators to achieve accurate ventilation rate. Therefore, it is necessary for residents tounderstand how the ventilation rate of naturalventilators installed in their house changes thecondition of the indoor air. The purpose of thisstudy is to measure the ventilation rate ofvarious experiment cases and to compare theirventilation performance characteristics. In thisstudy, in order to understand the ventilation rateof natusal ventilators according to variousvariables, a range of situations were set forexperiment cases, such as the position andventilation ratios of natural ventilators, and theopen or closed position of interior doors.Natural ventilators were installed in residentialunits of an apartment building. The ventilationrates were then measured by the tracer gasmethod and fan pressurization method.
