AIVC project: "Cooker hoods in residential buildings"

The trend towards more nearly zero energy buildings and much more airtight buildings represents specific challenges for cooker hoods in residential buildings. 

The application of cooker hoods represents various challenges. What are the issues of concern? What are the trends? How to assess performances? In terms of energy? Indoor climate?
Are there specific challenges for application in very low energy buildings? For renovation projects? What are the expectations of customers, is there a lack of awareness? To what extent can standards/regulations be a driver or barrier?
