Report for session 10: Synthesis

The following notes were produced "on line", during the conference. A minimum of corrections and additions were a posteriori introduced, in order to make the text readable. But no attempt was made to "soften" the comments. Such a report should , in no case, be considered as exhaustive, neither reflecting any consensus. It is nothing more than a set of subjective impressions collected by the author, along the nine previous technical sessions, after having read the corresponding reports (references 1 to 9).

The potential for evaporative cooling in Turkey

The potential for evaporative cooling to meet Turkey’s growing cooling demand is investigated based on thermodynamics and human comfort. Weather and population data for 51 locations in Turkey were analyzed to estimate for each location the potential annua

Local dynamic similarity concept as applied to evaluation of discharge coefficients of ventilated buildings. Part 3: Simplified method for estimating dynamic pressure tangential to openings of cross-ventilated buildings

A simplified method was investigated for estimating the dynamic pressure tangential to an opening (Pt) with Irwin’s surface wind sensor. The wind velocity measured by this sensor was broadly consistent with the value measured by a hot-wire anemometer. Mor

Hybrid photovoltaic-thermal technology and solar cooling: The CRF solar façade case study

The solar façade of the FIAT Research Center (CRF) was realized recently near Turin in Italy, under cooperation between CRF and Politecnico di Milano. The photovoltaic elements, that has a total power of 19.5 kWp, produces electric energy, while the force

CA-SIS: An engineering tool for thermal studies with gradual access

CA-SIS,Conditionnement d’Air - Simulation des Systèmes (Air Conditioning - System SImulation), software has been developed on PC as a tool for engineering offices in their Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning studies. Based on TRNSYS solver, its maj
