INVESTIGATION OF ACTUAL HUMIDITY CONDITIONS IN HOUSES AND EVALUATION OF INDOOR ENVIRONMENT BY FUNGAL INDEX

The characteristics of climate in Japan are hot and humid in summer, with cold and dry winter. For thisreason, mold growing in rooms is common during summer period. On the other hand, in winter, due tospace heating, indoor environment is over-dry as a result of low humidity.

Thermal comfort: use of controls in naturally ventilated buildings.

A field study of the thermal comfort of workers in natural ventilated office buildings in Oxford and Aberdeen, UK, was carried out which included information about use of building controls. The data were analysed to explore that what effect the outdoor temperature has on the indoor temperature and how this is affected by occupants' use of environmental controls during the peak summer (June-August). The proportion of subjects using a control was related to indoor and outdoor temperatures to demonstrate the size of the effect.

On controlling indoor thermal and moisture content for an occupied building.

The focus of this paper is on controlling ventilation rate to provide acceptable temperature and relative humidity in the space being ventilated. To this end, a system of heat and moisture balance equations for building indoor and components is described. The system is solved numerically. Based on a series of indoor temperature and moisture measurements for our experimental house and well-mixed air distribution in room, moisture generation rate is estimated. The model is validated by simulating the experimental house. Good agreement between the simulated and measured results is obtained.
