Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

The Single Coil Twin Fan (SCTF) system is a newly developed air-conditioning and air distribution system that aims to deliver enhanced IAQ as well as save energy.

For the prototype of the local air conditioning of the working places named PERMICS(Personal Microclimate System) the air velocity and turbulence intensity at horizontal air inlets were analyzed. The velocity field was visualized with smoke.
Butala V., Muhic S., Mazej M.
Analysis of operation of a prototype system for local air-conditioning of working places, named PERMICS-LOS1 (Personal Microclimate System) was made based on measurements of air velocity field, using a hot-wire anemometer and of tracer gas concent

Data center facilities that house computer equipment represent a high capital investment and are typically designed to function for at least a few years, often without any down time.
Schmidt, R.R., Iyengar M.
The dimensionless capture index (CI) is proposed as a cooling performance metric based solely on the airflow patterns associated with the supply of cool air to, or the removal of hot air from, a rack.
VanGilder J.W., Shrivastava S.K.
The heat loads of servers and storage devices are continuing to increase at a rapid rate. These increases are causing data center operators to struggle with how to provide adequate cooling for these high-powered racks.
