Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

The development of an innovative low temperature differential variable air volume fan-coil unit (LTD-VAV FCU) was carried out to improve the defects of VAV and cold air distribution energy-saving technololgies.

For that paper, the interaction between different ventilation strategies, and the adsorption and desorption of volatile compounds on material surfaces in small test chambers was investigated.
Jorgensen R.B.
For that study, the air contaminations with VOCs, ozone and ultrafine particle were monitored in the indoor air of a room containing either a laser printer or ink-jet printer.

This study argues that complaints about thermal discomfort by individuals should not be ignored and can be used to determine the temperature setting for a population in air-conditioned environment.
Wong L.T., Mui K.W., Fong N.K., Hui P.S.
For that paper, a new ventilation strategy is numerically simulated, this new approach consists in supplying fresh air directly by using high velocity circular air jet without mixing with recirculated air.Different angles of recirculated air dif

The double skin façade proves to be an effective system in energy conservation in residential buildings.
Lei Xu, Toshio Ojima
For that paper, a multiple regression analysis is applied to predict the room mean velocity on the one hand and to determine the most influencing parameters on the velocity, on the other hand.
Youngjun Cho, Awbi H.B.
A systematic approach is required to deal efficiently with thermal-comfort problems in buildings.
Budaiwi I.M.
The aim of that paper was to investigate the impact of alternative energy conservation measures on energy requirements in office buildings in hot-humid climates.

Based on the previous study by Yang et al., the authors developed a revised model to estimate the potential for natural-ventilation considering both thermal comfort and IAQ issues for buildings in China.
Luo Z., Zhao J., Gao J., He L.
In that paper, the effectiveness of ventilation flows is considered from the perspective of buoyancy (or heat) removal from a space.Three new measures of effectiveness are proposed : they are based on the ability of a flow to flush buoyancy from a

For that study, the characteristic of airborne bacteria and fungi have been surveyed in the public buildings (kindergarten, hospital, postpartum nurse center, and elderly welfare facility) regulated in Korea, with the six-stage cascade compactor.
Ki Youn Kim, Chi Nyon Kim
The aim of this paper was to develop and describe a new flow equation, and to compare it to the currently accepted ones by W.C.L. Hemeon in 1955, and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
