Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

The AIVC website includes a protected content feature that provides access to AIRBASE. Access to the protected content is free of charge but requires you to register first.

The objective of that study was to find out the important properties of ground covers, the optimal air change rates for the controlling of moisture conditions in an outdoor air-ventilated crawl space in a cold climate, and to estimate the acceptab
Airaksinen M.
The particle deposition on ceilings causing the soiling of induction outlets is mainly caused by the features of mixed ventilation. This paper offers a solution to the problem.
Timmer H., Zeller M.
In this swedish report, an inventory and a multidisciplinary review (EUROWORKS) of the scientific literature about networks on indoor environmental quality and health is made.
Sundell J, Nordling E.
This paper give descriptions of the tasks conducted in the two phases of the material emissions project that lasted from 1996 to 2000.
Won D., Shaw C.Y.
The effects of environmental factors can be important in simulating indoor levels of VOCs emitted from building materials.
Won D, Nong G., Shaw C.Y.
The key principle of this work is that intermittent ventilation is equivalent to continuous ventilation if the pollutant exposure to an individual in the space is the same in both cases.
Grimsrud D.T.
This thesis is based on studies undertaken during the period 1998-2003 at the HVAC laboratory of Helsinki University of Technology. The thesis focuses on dust accumulation in, and removal from, recently installed supply air ducts and on the bristle
Holopainen R.
The bristle of a rotating cleaning brush for air ducts was modelled using large deformaion elastic theory.
Holopainen R., Salonen E.M.
This paper describes a pilot study conducted in an occupied family house in Ohio to determine if a script-based protocol could be used to obtain data useful for the identification of the key factors affecting air-exchange rate (AER) and the rela
Johnson T., Myers J., Kelly T, Wisbith A., Ollison W.
This paper is a clear presentation of the different available systems to ensure a good thermal comfort : the author starts with passive systems that maintain comfort without an extra energy consumption, carries on with the low-energy consumpt
Feldmann C., Folempin P.
This paper gives the main results of a thesis whose main objective was the comparison of numerical and experimental values of indoor air quality. The tests were carried out at the CSTB .
Akoua JJ., Collignan B.
First the author asserts that the filtration with the help of fiber means is the most widely used technique for the treatment of the particle-pollution.
Thomas D.
The characteristics of the building that has been renoved according to the german standard "pasive house", are presented.
Werner J.
Concerning house ventilation, occupants are aware of the necessity of suppressing the vicious air but less of the obligation of entering outside air.
Millet J.R.
For that study a seated computational thermal manikin (CTM) is used to study the microenvironment around human body with or wihtout personalized ventilation system (PV).
