Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC. It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc. Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

This paper is a review of the major planning issues associated with data center design. It also describes how those issues were addressed in one recently completed data center.
Kurkjian C.
An initial reading of USP 797 might appear intimidating, but compliance is not so uneasy.
Rousseau C., Bare A.R.
Modulating coil heat transfer is essential in an air-handler, when the purpose of the coil is comfort conditioning. it is the basis of accurate and stable space temperature control.
Koening R.
Protective measures against transmission of airborne infections, such as negative-pressure isolation rooms, are difficult to implement in resource-limited settings. So natural ventilation may offer a low-cost alternative.
Escombe A.R., Oeser C.C., Gilman R.H., Navincopa M., Ticona E. et al.
The mixing air distribution system used in existing aircraft cabins create a uniform air temperature distribution and dilute contaminants in the cabin that could spread infectious airborne diseases.
Zhang T., Chen Q.Y.
The contaminant efficiency of a ventilated ceiling used in kitchen has been determined as function of type of ventilation and air flow rate.
Kosonen R.
The investigation of the performance of floor-supply displacement ventilation with swirl diffusers or perforated panels under a high cooling load is reported in that paper.
Lau J., Chen Q.
The aim of that population-based cross-sectional study was to assess the relation between the exposure to carbonless copy paper (CCP), paper dust, and fumes from photocopiers and printers (FPP) and the occurrence of sick building syndrome(SBS) rel
Jaakkola M.S., Yang L., Ieromnimon A., Jaakkola J.J.K.
For that study, indoor and outdoor carbonyl concentrations have been measured simultaneously in 12 urban dwellings in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xi'an, during summer and winter.
Wang B, Lee S.C., Ho K.F.
The authors compared first the natural ventilation flows established by a range of heat source distributions at floor level, then demonstrated that modelling the ventilation flow driven by a uniformly distributed heat source is equivalent to the f
Kaye N.B., Hunt G.R.
The aim of the present study is to characterize, experimentally, the effect of dust loading on coil performance for HVAC applications when employing different filter-coil combinations.
Yang L., Braun J.E., Groll E.A.
The aim of that paper was to evaluate the impact of different filter types on the performance of three typical packaged air conditioners under clean and fouled conditions.
Yang L., Braun J.E., Groll E.A.
In that paper, the efficiency of ultraviolet germicidal irridiation (UVGI) to inactivate airborne fungal spores and bacterial vegetative cells has been evaluated under three configurations : intrinsic, upper-room air and in-duct.
Kujundzic E., Hernadez M., Miller S.L.
A combined solar house with a solar chimney and a solar water collector is studied in that paper.
Zhou X.P., Yang J.K., Xiao B.
The authors present first some general observations of the efficiency of naturally ventilated buildings and discuss how advanced natural ventilation (ANV) buildings incorporating stacks can be turned into a temporal hybrid form, that combines pass
Lomas K.L., Cool M.J., Fiala D.
The authors have developed an online model suitable for a zone equipped with a VAV unit , that can predict zone temperature with unknown parameters.
Wen J., Smith T.F.
This paper deals with the monitoring and simulated thermal behavior of a passive solar school at the Northwest of La Pampa province in Argentina . The results of social-environmental surveys are presented.
Filippin C., Marek L., Flores Larsen S., Lesino G.
This paper describes the attributes of simple and advanced naturally ventilated (ANV) buildings. Environmental design considerations in general and ventilation considerations in particular shape the architecture of ANV buildings.
Lomas K.J.
Few controllers have been tested on physical terms, their investigation has been limited to proposals and simulations. The construction and modeling of an experimental system for testing advanced HVAC controllers, is the aim of that paper.
