We are pleased to present you the new AIVC website. Since 2001, the AIVC website had the same look and feel and we thought it was time for a fundamental change. We hope that this new website will please you.
In addition to the new look and feel, some of the major changes are:
The AIVC together TightVent are organizing the webinar “Ensuring Reliable Airtightness Measurements: Airtightness Tester Qualification Across Countries” on 16 June 2026 (14:00 - 15:30 CEST). The webinar will present and compare these different approaches to the qualification of airtightness testers.
The event will feature presentations by:
Paul Carling – BCTA, UK
Laverne Dalgleish –ABAA, USA

The qualification of airtightness testers plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, consistency, and credibility of building airtightness measurements, which are essential for energy performance assessment, indoor environmental quality, and compliance with building regulations. Over the past decades, several countries and professional organizations have developed qualification and certification schemes for airtightness testers in order to improve measurement quality and increase confidence in reported results.

This document provides practitioners with an overview of the current status of national building codes regarding indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and energy performance, with a focus on how they address overheating and ventilative cooling in buildings. The review focuses primarily on building codes applicable to new buildings in cold and moderate climates, where regulations have traditionally prioritized heating performance.
We are pleased to share that the presentation slides from the AIVC 2026 workshop “Climate change, ventilation, and resilience” are now available online.
The workshop brought together researchers, industry professionals, and international experts to exchange insights and discuss the latest developments addressing climate change challenges. Key topics included indoor environmental quality (IEQ), ventilation strategies, human health, and sustainable building solutions.
Climate change and increasing frequency and intensity of heatwaves highlights a shift in building practice in cold and moderate climates: from focusing on heating needs to addressing cooling demand, overheating risks, and...
The AIVC is happy to announce the release of a new addition to the AIVC Ventilation Information Paper (VIP) series dealing with trends in building ventilation requirements and inspection in various countries.
We are pleased to share that the latest Annual Report from IEA EBC is now available.
The report provides an overview of progress made by the EBC Programme during 2025, including summaries of new, ongoing, and recently completed projects. It is structured in three parts: the Chair’s Statement, project progress reports, and practical background information. It also includes a summary of the Programme’s latest outcomes intended for policy and decision makers.
The report features a dedicated section on Annex 5: “Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre.”
