Measurement and evaluation of indoor air quality by passive method in Korean houses

Korean gouvernment supports researches to improve indoor air pollution. For that study, an investigation was conducted on indoor concentration of chemical pollutants, passive flux from building materials, ventilation rate, temperature and relative humidity. A passive measurement method developed by the authors was used.

Present status of the IAQ in Japanese national hospitals

For that study field VOC measurements were conducted in 20 natioanl hospitals in Japan. Passive samplers were used. Results are presented .

Dutch daycare centers : hot and stuffy

This paper describes an investigation of the indoor environment in Dutch daycare centers. Air temperature and CO2 levels measurements were made during summer and winter in 14 centers.. Results and recommendations are presented.

Comparison of strategies to improve indoor air quality at pre-occupancy stage in new apartment buildings.

Recently, the Indoor Air Quality Management Act came into effect in Korea., in order to limit formaldehyde and VOCs concentration levels in new buildings. For that study , six residential units were tested under different conditions : air-cleaning and ventilation effects were evaluated . A comparison of the applicable strategies was made to improve indoor air quality at the pre-occupancy stage of inhabitants.

Indoor air quality and pollutant source analysis in spring hotels in Guangdong province, China

For that study, indoor air pollutants including CO2, CO, MP10, PM2.5 and volatile compounds were measured in four hot spring hotels, (the results are presented.

The investigation of indoor environment condition of office building in Guangzhou (field measurment)

The investigation and analysis of indoor environment condition of high and middle grade office building is presented in this paper, along with the results

Significance of establishing pressure coefficients for wind catchers/towers natural ventilation systems

Pressure coefficients are considered vital components for the calculation of airflow through opening in building. The experimental investigation consisted of a square wind catcher connected to a model test room. At various wind speeds and four different wind directions between 0-45 at interval of 15, the pressure coefficients distribution, the internal air speed and the volumetric airflow were measured. The results obtained using Explicit, AIDA Implicit model and CFX code appeared in adequacy with the experimental results at lower speeds and with wind incidents at angle of 0-15 .

CFD study on the velocity distribution aroused by desktop personal air-conditioning

This paper deals with the velocity of the airflow around human body from the outlet of the desktop personal air-conditioning. That device can provide more high quality air for occupant than other personal air-conditioning system, though the air velocity is always high. CFD simulations aiming at reducing the draft have been made.

The study about the supply air property of desktop-based task-ambient air conditioning

For that study, a workstation simulating a typical office desk with desktop-based TAC system was established in a Controlled Environment Chamber. The thermal environment created by different properties of supply air and ambient temperature was measured and analyzed.

Performance test results for a full scale IEQ chamber

This paper gives a sum up of the results of performance testing in an IEQ (indoor environment quality) chamber built in Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science (SRIBS).
