The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) Construction Research Centre organized a private facility tour in Ottawa for ten AIVC board members on September 27, 2025, following the 45th AIVC - ASHRAE IEQ joint conference in Montreal. Visiting board members from Belgium, France, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and the United States were welcomed by NRC hosts, including two AIVC board members.

The tour highlighted several of the NRC’s leading research facilities, including the Indoor Environment Research Facility, Material Emissions Laboratory, Hygrothermal Performance of Building Envelope Facilities, Dynamic Roofing Facilities, Canadian Centre for Housing Technology, Acoustic and Sound Transmission Facilities, and Radon Testing Facility.

Throughout the visit, participants engaged in discussions on recent research and policy developments related to building energy performance, building envelope airtightness, air infiltration, ventilation, air cleaning, and indoor environmental quality. The event offered an excellent opportunity to exchange expertise and identify areas for future collaboration.
