Simulation of the cooling effect of the roof added photovoltaics

In this study, the TRNSYS simulation engine was used to investigate the shading and cooling effect of roof added photovoltaics. The local weather conditions were introduced in the data reader component. The sol air effective temperatures were modeled in the roof –air boundary layer, while a single zone model was used for the heat transfer calculation, both in bared and PV shaded  roof. The simulation was validated by experimental data of a PV installation at the roof of the Department of Environmental & Natural Resources Management.

Prediction of Heat Emission Effect at Small Single-sided Openings in Apartment Houses

In this study, we propose a method for forecasting heat emission effect in a small single-sided slit opening. In order to make a heat flux forecasting model, we carried out field measurement, wind tunnel experiment, and CFD analysis. In the field measurement, we measured heat flux and grasped the relationship of heat flux of the opening and airflow around the building surface. In the wind tunnel experiment, we measured airflow around the opening and grasped turbulence characteristics.

The Effect of Planted Roofs on the Energy Behaviour of Buildings

Vegetation on the building envelope can have a marked effect on the microclimate and on the building’s energy behavior as well. In this paper, the impact of planted roofs on the thermal load of buildings is presented. Based on measurements and a series of
